Shown is an estate-fresh 1908 FAIRBANKS "REGENT" original 5-string banjo. Venerable old Boston-made 5 string with 10 3/4" diameter spun over rim and mostly original hardware (tailpiece has been changed). As photos show dyed pearwood fretboard is lifted , checked and missing an inlay. Additionally most of the binding is either loose or missing. Original twist tuners on peghead..missing 5th peg. Offering in "as found" pre-restoration state as shown..Should prove to be a rewarding restoration project for the new owner. As shown this attic find is still equipped with a couple of rare accessories available at the time..namely the Hartnett "Adjustable Tone Bar" (finger rest) and the rare "Hartnett Adjustable Tone-Lever" (mute assembly). Both these accessories are found advertised in many period print ads as well as the Bacon Professional Banjo catalog reprint ...Fresh estate find....
