SAGA "MASTERCLONE" FIVE STRING BANJO
This is a most impressive SAGA "MASTERCLONE" FIVE STRING BANJO made in Japan back in the good old days. Having been a Gold Star dealer back in the 80s I've handled enough of these to say that this does appear to be completely original and of Japanese manufacture despite the lack of "made in japan" sticker likely removed from back of the peghead. Mahogany neck and resonator, maple rim, 20-hole flathead tone ring, dual co-rods, Waverly tailpiece, geared tuners, tube and plate flange, fiddle-cut peghead, rosewood fretboard with "Bowtie" inlays. New Remo head. All hardware is nickel plated, with the exception of the armrest which is chrome (resists tarnish). Two of the resonator attachment thumbscrews missing...still holds tight using the two originals and a couple of slotted screws...includes original hard case.
