1937-39 EPIPHONE PROMO PHOTOS
- ORIGINAL 8 1/2" x 11" Epiphone Promo photos in my personal archive. This collection
includes top quality scans of ORIGINAL b&w photos from Epiphone which were distributed to
high volume dealers as promotional tools in the late 30s. There's a bunch of endorsers with their
Epiphones: Albert Harris (from the Howard Jacobs Orchestra) and his early Epiphone Emperor
archtop, George Van Eps with his early Electar 6 string spanish guitar, amp and Epiphone
Triumph custom acoustic archtop, Lloyd Gilliam playing his Electar Lap Steel through an early Electar Amp while
Sammy Kay looks on approvingly, Vincent Maffay (CBS staff artist) playing a cool late 30s Epiphone Emperor with
a vintage CBS microphone nearby, Frank Klinger (with George Hall) playing an early 16" archtop with white
pickguard, Jack Skiles (with Fred Waring) playing his late 30s Epiphone Deluxe,
Frank Federico playing his 30s Epiphone (looks like an Emperor) while LOUIE
PRIMA looks on approvingly and a few studio photos showing a pair of blonde Epiphone
Triumphs used in a family "cowgirl" band with a Gibson Hawaiian guitar too!

1953 GUILD Guitar flyer

ORIGINAL 8 1/2" x 11" guitar and amp "flyer" in my personal archive consists of a letter dated
June 1953 from the New York based Guild Guitars. The flip
side of the letter has a black and white photo of the Guild Model X 350.
The letter , which was sent to prospective dealers, started with "If They Try It, They'll Buy It.."
and is signed by Ben Wagmeister, General Manager. Also included an 8 1/2" x 13" Specification
and Availability sheet listing the guitar and amp models available at that time along with brief
descriptions and prices. Cool historical Guild stuff..
